    – Replacement value without obligation to rebuild
    – Replacement value without obligation to replace your movable property
  • Enhanced coverages, such as:
    – $15,000 for jewellery, gemstones, pearls and watches
    – $10,000 for bicycles, their accessories and equipment
    – $100,000 for works of art

Water damage:
In addition to the basic coverage, get an insurance rider that covers ground water damage, such as:

  • Sewer backup
  • Penetration or infiltration of natural water through foundations, walls or basement openings

Earthquake:
Covers damage caused by ground movements that may occur during an earthquake.

Umbrella insurance:
In the event of a disaster occurring anywhere in the world, Umbrella insurance completes your coverage by expanding the scope of civil liability.

How does it work?

This service is offered to customers who have home insurance with Sogemec Assurances/The Personal. Certain conditions, exclusions and limitations may apply.

Identity Theft Assistance is confidential. This is an aid service and does not cover financial losses. If you are a victim or believe you are a victim of identity theft, you can call our team of professionals day and night, including access to a notary and a psychologist, to:

  • Get advice on how to prevent identity theft
  • Answer your questions about identity theft
  • Get help to restore your identity

How to call identity theft assistance?

If you have home insurance with us, just call 1 866 350-8282. Simply have your insurance contract number on hand when you call.

What are the business hours?

Identity theft attorneys are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. Outside of these hours, The Personal’s assistance services caseworkers ensure that the basic steps are known and understood before the notary calls back. The services of a psychologist are limited to a free one-hour telephone consultation to help you manage the stress that identity theft can cause. It must be used within one year of opening your file.

In which situations can I use this service?

  • Your passport has been stolen and you want to know how to protect yourself against its fraudulent use.
  • Your social insurance card has gone missing after a recent move, and you want to check that no credit application has been made on your behalf.
  • Your wallet has been lost and you are wondering where to start to get new papers.

How does this service work?

  • You can call a notary from our legal aid service toll-free and without time limits at 1-888-875-7540.
  • All calls are confidential.
  • Simply have your home insurance policy number handy when you call

What are the business hours?

Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

When should you use this service?

Legal aid could be useful to you in this type of situation:

  • You are renting a new vehicle and want to end your rental contract, but first you want to know the legal consequences.
  • You have questions about your will or your civil union.
  • You are in conflict with your neighbour and want to know your rights.
